Throughout the year, HBC-SA organises various events. Flagship events such as our Golf day and the Ambassadors’ Luncheon offers to our contacts a tailored platform for networking. In addition, at HBC SA we pride ourselves of being so flexible in regards to the events that we can offer, indeed HBC SA organises yearly seminars, workshops, trade fairs and annual events such as the EU Chambers New Year’s Cocktail Reception.

Women in Business
HBC-SA and partners hosted an empowering event that highlighted the biases women face in biased industries. Panlists Pria Hassan (WOA-CEO) and Paul Cox (Vopak-MD) provided insight into employment equity transformation and how best to empower women in the workplace. Attendees were able to share their experiences and challenges in their respective fields.

Durban Holland Cocktail Reception
During the United Cities and Local Governments Congress, the HBC-SA, together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, hosted a Dutch delegation of mayors including a member of Senate of the Netherlands Mr Ton Rombouts.

Networking Reception Dutch Vice Minister
The HBC-SA hosted a networking reception with the Vice Minister of Internarional Trade Ms Hanneke Schuiling and a delegation of companies visiting South Africa as part of a trade mission organised by the Netherlands Embassy on “Smart Solutions for resilient Cities.”

Financing Industrial Development in South Africa
HBCSA and FSACCI facilitated a workshop between the IDC and companies within supply chain and big industry on how to secure funding as well how to tap into private/public funding initiatives. Attendees were also enlightened about the impact the 4th Industrial Revolution has on jobs.

Sinterklaas
The HBC-SA together with the Belgian Chamber hosted over 300 parents and children at the Dutch ambassador’s residence, to celebrate this old Dutch tradition. The children were thoroughly entertained throughout the day, playing various dutch games while eagerly awaiting their presents from Sinterklaas.

SANEC Renaissance Cocktail: Durban
As SANEC was rebranding, a soft launch was organised in Durban where guests had an exclusive view of the new logo, the new name. The aim of the event was also to present the new offices in Durban as well as introducing the new representative active on our behalf in Durban. The event then culminated with an informal cocktail reception.
